Parents or guardians from every house hold their breath in anticipation of the result. Kids line the street to cheer and encourage their peers as they compete for the ultimate valuable. The excitement and buildup last for hours and it is over in a flash. Champions are born and egos are shattered and winner takes all is the primary theme. The losers limp home to review their strategy and plan for a higher race. So what is this event you ask?
Little Tikes Cozy Coupe Race Night!
Yes I am referring to the best-selling car for some – the Little Tikes Coupe Cozy Car. We’ve all seen them scurrying up and down a lot of our streets, kids feet moving a mile a minute as they self-power their toy wheels to their next destination. It reminds you of a scene about the Flinstones! The wheels rattle, the steering wheel strains and the sound is really deafening. Have you ever heard one of those things coming your way? It all quite literally sounds like a train off the tracks. Who knew something so small , simple could make that much noise?
The Little Tikes Coupe should be the best-selling “car” in America over the past 30 years with 10 million machines sold! In 2008 over 457, 000 were sold, besting both Honda Apparentement and Toyota Camry. It is not only the best-selling car, but also some of the top-selling toys of all time. I personally can’t remember ever seeing any kind of garage without one in it. They are everywhere in my neighborhood and I do guess that is representative of most of America.
The great thing about this toy is that it is sturdy enough to withstand a new day to day bruising from a child. Also, because it will only check out as fast as their feet will allow, parents feel safe that their kids are not likely to have a bone-shattering crash. That safety only applies to flat area however , because if your son is like mine he will find the steepest exorde and proceed to launch himself down at terrifying speeds. I can’t promise that that one scenario will always end well.
The other thing you can’t ward off is the crash derby – or bumper cars. Boys especially will immediately look for another car and torpedo himself at his adversary. Much like a real car wreck, heads and legs can get banged up pretty good during a smashup. Fortunately the speed limits on little tikes coupe car make the crashes controlled.
Overall this is an awesome toy that every kid require. It is almost a rite of passage in our neighborhood. These long-wearing toys are passed down from siblings and each kid takes great pride in owners. So go ahead and get your kid his or her first car! Not a chance keys or license are required!
