The Light Korg Triton – Korg Triton LE

It is said that the Lord created the Heavens and the Earth –and everything else was created by China. This reference joke may be generally true, but hey, the Japanese had it too. Japan has long been standing at the top when it comes to technology and innovation of almost everything. They brought us brilliant minds from those of Toyota, Mitsubishy, Sony, Toshiba and many others. The advances in music also involved them. In turn, Japan gave us Korg. Born from the 1960’s, the little company just came from a pretty simple idea. Today, Korg has become a well-known brand in keyboards and other music equipment, giving us quality time and time again.

One of their early keyboard products was the Korg Triton, which became a multimedia powerhouse of the early 2000s. For recording studios and artists alike, they became widely used but they’re expensive. So what about the mainstream people? This brings us to the light version of the Triton, the Korg Triton LE, along with its Korg Triton Le Manual. It started out with a $700 price tag, but now, it’s relatively cheaper than that since this is an older model.

The Triton Le is a stripped down Triton with all the basic features with some extras. As the entry-level product of their line-up, the LE is lighter and more slender than its older brother. It features a 61 or 76 note keys with 62 polyphonics. It has a GM sound set along with its Quad-bank programming and Tri-bank combination. With the exception of the floppy drive and PC ports, it has all the basic input and output sockets at the back. Thankfully, the smart media interface replaced the diskette drive. Who needs a floppy drive today, anyway? In the package, it’s well placed and sturdy, comes with an external power supply, and its own Korg Triton LE Manual.

The best feature for some is actually the sound. Despite the changes, it has managed to remain with the same hardware to produce what’s important in any musical instrument. With that, you can enjoy crisp audio and its modes just as the Triton delivers.
