I commenced forex trading back in 2003 when I opened an account with UK headquartered forex provider Alpari, at the time Alpari was really the only provider who was using the the Metatrader 4 trading platform. I really wanted the Metatrader 4 trading platform primarily due to the platforms capability to run automated strategies which is how I prefer to trade. I still have my Alpari account opened as I prefer to have a backing forex trading account. However after moving back to Australia 18 months ago I found a couple of other forex brokers that caught my eye.
Among the many forex brokers that caught my attention was an Australian based forex provider called IC Markets, the reason I was interested in this broker was because of their ECN or Electronic Communication Network infrastructure which means that I can get access to the actual interbank market with a click of a button, this is something that Alpari could not give me nor could any other broker in Australia as nearly all of them are market makers or STP providers who basically take the other side of my trade and benefit from their clients losses, and unscrupulous practice indeed.
After talking to IC Markets they explained to me that their ECN foreign exchange offering was one of a kind at is aggregates prices from number of unique sources and I would be dealing with the world’s largest banks permitting me to deal on the very best liquidity in the world. The vision of having the ability to deal on razor sharp spreads meant that my automated forex trading plan that revolves around scalping should work better, there was just one way to prove this and that was to put this provider to the test.
I am not a inexperienced and gullible trader and I won’t believe any sales person, the evidence is in the pudding so I decided to open an IC Markets forex currency trading account to find out just what this ECN technology or ECN bulldust was all about.
I do know this sounds really cheap but after 6 months of live forex trading with IC Markets I won’t be looking back and that’s the truth! I have been tremendously happy with IC Markets pricing and execution speed, normally during European hours the spreads they quote are negative, this in-itself makes them a far superior forex broker that every other forex broker in Australia, and there are lots of them. Having razor sharp prices, combined with the world’s best trading platform Metatrader 4 makes forex trading with IC Markets a dream for scalpers like me, my EA trading has even had a boost executing more profitable trades than ever due to the improved spreads that I can now get with IC Markets.
I’m writing this evaluation not to advertise any broker in particular all that I can say is that if you want to trade with an ECN broker that is headquartered in Australia there really is just one choice and that is IC Markets. It goes without saying you should do your own homework before deciding on a broker, I’ve done mine and I am pretty happy with the forex broker that I’ve selected.
