Common Problems To Your House Paint

One of the best parts of the home is how the home is painted or the coloring of the home. This will provide a direct impact to anyone taking a look at your home, especially if you are going to sell it. This is a regular thing you should make a point in doing, because what you will see is that the paint can fade over time. You will experience many benefits to your home dependant on the quality of paint you use for your home and the outward appearance will improve greatly as well. If you do use a very good quality paint, this can help protect your home from the elements such as moisture, ultra violet rays and other weather issues. But even if you take good care of it, there are still some problems which can happen to your home. This article is going to discuss a lot of the common issues you may face when painting your home.

First thing that can happen is that you experience paint peeling within your home. The main cause of peeling is that the old coat of paint hasn’t been removed properly. Peeling can also be caused when you don’t prepare the surface properly and it is left with moisture. This is due to the fact that new paint sometimes doesn’t stick to the surface of the wall well. Peeling paint in the future can be avoided by doing certain things that will make the paint last such as making sure you do the proper preparation. Make sure that you take the time to remove any of the old paint. You have to scrub the surface clean in order for the new paint to stick to the painted surface properly because it could have a hard time.  This step ensures a better paint job in the long run from our experience in our painting San Diego company.

The next issue you might face is having the paint start to blister or bubble. This can happen at any time after you are done painting from as early as two hours to as late as two days from the time you painted. This happens most of the time because a paint with a thinner base was used. You can also start to have the lower coat of paint form a thin layer over some of the paint. This will will cause a layer of paint to evaporate very fast and this will cause a bubble from the trapped air inside. Since the gas has no means of escape, it will form into a bubble.  That is why we use quality paints that don’t do this in our exterior painting San Diego company.

And finally, you can experience chalking. This is what gets formed on the outside of the home and it is a powdery white substance. This can be caused by the paint having a chemical breakdwon. The environmental elements cause pigments, binders and solvent in the paint. It is also commonly the result of the poor priming or by applying the paint very thinly.  That is why we use quality paints that don’t do this in our San Diego house painting company.

So those were a few of the situations that you can have problems with when you paint your home. Be sure that when you do paint that you take the time to properlly prepare for the paint job so you don’t have these problems.
