If you are looking for a mid priced stereo system for your motorcycle, ATV, or snowmobile that has handlebar mount speakers, you might consider the Lanzar OPTIMC90. Included in the package is a 700 watt amp with USB recharging port, a pair of bullet speakers that can be handleboar mounted, all nesessary wiring and mounting hardware and even a nice little volume control that can be mounted on your handlebars as well.
The amplifier provides 700 watts of peak power, but that is divided up amongst 4 channels (175 watts per channel). Only 2 speakers are included with the package so you will need another pair to be able to put one speaker on each channel and use all the power the amp can offer.
The chrome speakers and hardware look good with most bikes and the system is relatively easy to hook up if you follow the wiring diagram.
Keep in mind that this system does not have an AM/FM radio or a CD player like most car stereos. In fact, this stereo will not produce any sound on it’s own without some kind of digital music device connected to it such as an iPod, MP3 player, iPhone, or smart phone. Charging your device is no problem using the USB port on the amp, but don’t expect it to fulfill any other function. It is not capable of playing music through the USB connection. To hear some music, you must hook up the 3.5 mm plug to the jack for headphones on your portable device. Folder and song selection and so forth can be done directly from your device.
As mentioned, the amp has plenty of power at 700 watts and you should expect loud and clear music from the bullet speakers, particularly the high end freqencies and midrange. However, don’t look for a lot of thump on the low end from small speakers like these. Even so, you will have plenty of volume and you will be able to hear the sound just fine at highway speeds.
