Sometimes it can be done a few weeks before, but it will depend on your baby’s position, the placenta, and whether or not the ultrasound technician can get a good view of your baby’s private parts.

Gender Prediction Method #2:  Amniocentesis

Penetrating the womb from a needle to extract amino is used in this procedure. Consult your doctor as it comes with a small chance of a possibility of miscarriage. It is the most evasive procedure. They can also determine other factors about the pregnancy as well.

Even though on the “old wives tale” side, this method looks at how the baby is carried. If the baby is carried low, the mother is going to have a baby boy. A baby girl is predicted if the mother is carrying the baby higher. A baby girl is also more likely if the mother is wider.

Gender Prediction Method #4:  Morning Sickness

Another “old wives tale” uses morning sickness as a way of predicting the gender of your baby. It is said that if you do not get sick in the beginning of your pregnancy, you’re most likely pregnant with a baby boy. Morning sickness though the pregnancy will give you a girl. Again, remember it’s an old wives tale.

Gender Prediction Method #5:  Heart Rate

Possibly considered one of the old wives tales of gender prediction, this method uses heart rate (beats per minute) to speculate which sex you’re having—boy or girl. If your baby’s beats per minute are 140 or less, the baby could be a boy. If the heart beat is more than 140 beats per minute, you could be pregnant with a baby girl.
