NASCAR races at the track annually with local heroes Kurt and Kyle Busch coming home to take on other top drivers such as Jimmie Johnson and Carl Edwards. The IndyCar Series ends their year at the speedway, and the NHRA holds once a year races at the quarter-mile drag strip. Sprint car and modified racing happens on a weekly basis at the facility’s mud track.

While Las Vegas has been a frequently rumored destination for a major league baseball team, the nearest thing to top league baseball in Las Vegas came when the Oakland Athletics played the early part of their season at Cashman Field in 1996.
