In 2010, the team went 13-3 prior to getting beaten in the playoffs by Green Bay, the resultant Super Bowl winners.

The team is not unfamiliar with winning, though, having been to the Super Bowl in 1998. While their 2011 season has started slow, the Falcons still think they can remain competitive and make a playoff run. The Falcons make their home in Atlanta’s Georgia Dome, a $200 million facility which has been home to multiple Super Bowls and the Olympics.

Atlanta Silverbacks, NASL

For soccer action in Atlanta, fans need to look no farther than the NASL’s Silverbacks. They're a team that has experienced highs and lows, but is commonly entertaining. They were a playoff finalist in 1995, their first year as a Division 2 team in soccer’s A-League. They used to be a USL First Division Runner-up in 2007 before moving to the NASL in 2011.

Now that they are in the NASL, the team has their eyes set on the future. The Silverbacks play their matches in Atlanta Silverbacks Park in Chamblee, Georgia. Despite not basically playing their games in Atlanta, the park is simply a short 20 minute drive from Atlanta.

The WNBA is a great option for basketball for women’s basketball fans and locked out NBA fans alike. One of the best WNBA to look at is the Atlanta Dream, who've been one of the most successful groups in modern times. The Atlanta Dream franchise has a brief history. It was founded in 2008, holding a growth draft right after its inception.

In spite of their limited history, the team has already been to two WNBA Finals. This success has been due to their achievement in not only drafting, but also making trades. The team has featured a few All-Stars, including Angel McCoughtry and Sancho Lyttle. The team plays in Philips Arena in Atlanta.

He had broken a lot of soccer records and not only at soccer. In Facebook he has one of the most viewed and liked europe sport celebrity.

He is considered to be the best portuguese player of all time and he is the best known sport celebrity in Portugal. He is only 28 and have already played 100 matches for Portugal team.

Cristiano Ronaldo is a soccer god, and he is very wealthy as well. He drives Lamborghinis, Ferraris and Bugattis, has several mansions in Portugal, England and Spain. Even in Facebook he is very known around the world, not only in Europe as i said before, in which he shares a lot of photos during trains and matches and thank his fans all around the world. He is a very humble person. Ronaldo donates millions to charity and publicly states that his family is his most important priority. He is also an example for other soccer players: he is the first arriving at trains and the last one to leave, and gives 100% of himself in both trains and matches.

Ronaldo has some funny stories to tell, it usually shares some of them in Facebook. One of the best known is the one that his coach caught him in the gym facilities at 4 am training with weightlifts in his feet in order to improve the speed of his moves. Another one takes us to the night he won the Best Player award. After they annouced the winner, first Ronaldo words were ` mom, you can start the fireworks!`. In one of the latest matches, Ronaldo accidently injured a fan breaking his nose with a shoot. When he heard, he gave the shirt off his back to the injured fan, again demonstrating his kindness.

•  Basketball – If you’ve got a local basketball court in the neighbourhood, then playing a game of basketball would be the perfect solution. To make the teams fair, pick the 2 best players and choose them as the 2 respective captains of either teams. They then take turns picking players for their team. •  Backyard Cricket – This is ‘the’ sport Aussies love to play when they have guests over, especially during a barbeque. It can only serve as being an excellent sporting idea to play when having friends over to celebrate your birthday party. The basic rules of backyard cricket are that the batsman needs to hit the ball to certain areas to get runs since there may be a limitation in running wicket to wicket. If the ball goes over the neighbours fence, that is deemed 6 and out and the batsman must also go and fetch the ball. Usually there is one bowler, one batsman, one keeper and the rest fielders. 

•  Soccer – Soccer (or football as they call it in Europe) is probably the simplest game to play with a group of friends. Getting a few chairs to use as goalposts as well as a ball are all that is required. If playing in a backyard, you can play without boundaries which means that the ball is always in play. This allows for much excitement as players may take the ball all around the vicinity of the house to avoid losing the ball to the other team.
