First be a water changer! Whereas chickens have a certain toughness they are going to be open to illness if you aren’t on a daily basis renewing their water supply. Same with feed dont just forget it for days on days thinking it’s going to all get used because the chickens as with water will walk through it and poop into it it and while in the in their natural habitat they simply move about on to new space they can not do this from a confined chicken coop.  Accordingly daily change for water along with feed.

 Second, keep the chickens warm and dry. The chicken coop needs to be well insulated, but there should be enough air flow that it does not make the coop stifling. Chickens need to breath too!
