Visitors to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania should schedule time to go and visit the various cultural locations in the city. Concert halls in Philadelphia range all the way from intimate to great, while Philadelphia theaters host first-class performances. Whether you prefer opera or ballet, jazz or rock, one of the many performing humanities centres, concert halls and theaters in Philadelphia will give the perfect locale.

Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts

The Kimmel Center for the Performing Humanities is home to 2 Philadelphia theaters, Verizon Hall, a 2,500-set concert hall, and the 650-seat Pearlman Theater. The Pearlman Theater hosts a range of shows, from plays and comedy shows to musical performances. Verizon Hall is home to 1 or 2 performing humanities groups, for example Philadanco, Peter Nero and the Philly Pops and the Philadelphia Orchestra.

Temple Performing Arts Theater

Located on the Temple University campus, the Temple Performing Arts Theater was constructed as a church building back in 1891. After a 2010 remodel, this venue is one of newest theaters in Philadelphia. This historic structure seats 1,100 guests and hosts dance, theater and musical performances. Past performances include the the Compania Flamenca Jose Porcel dance troupe, the Temple University Sinfonia and Symphony Orchestra and the Chamber Orchestra of Philadelphia.

Electric Factory

The Electric Factory is one of the oldest concert halls in Philadelphia, first opening in 1964. The Electric Factory underwent a major renovation before reopening in the mid-1990s. More intimate than some other Philly concert halls, this venue seats from 2,500 to 3,000 spectators. Past performances include headliners from the musical worlds of grunge, heavy metal, rap and lots of other genres. The lower level of the Electric Factory is open to guests 18 years and older, while the upper level serves drinks to guests 21 and over.

Citizens Bank Park

The Philadelphia Phillies are the city’s Major League Baseball team. The Phillies play at Citizens Bank Park, which also hosts a spread of concerts and other large events. The locale seats more than 43,600 guests and is also home to shops, eateries and gaming on Ashburn Street. Guests are encouraged to enjoy a cheesesteak while watching concerts by artists such as Bon Jovi, Elton John and Jimmy Buffet.

The Wells Fargo Center

The Wells Fargo Center can accomodate more than 20,000 spectators. The arena’s oval shape makes sure that each seat has a good view whether you’re sitting in the mezzanine, a suite, the club box or on the lower level. The Wells Fargo Center hosts more than 250 events each year, from ice skating competitions to NBA and NHL games, circuses, as well as major demonstrations by musicians like Ray Charles, Billy Joel and the Foo Fighters.
