Two different extremes of humidity always exist in the rooms of my house. Some days, it does feel sticky which is mostly during really humid days outside in the summer. Winter is totally in the different direction of summer. I always have problems with dry skin during that time as it is dry in the room. The reason for dehumidifiers has always been something I’ve known. Mainly to remove moisture in the air, and even use them in rooms where the laundry is hang dried. I find it removes the humidity and dries everything faster. Anyways, I’ve been shown the humidifiers aisle of my local retail store as a solution to my problem with dry air in my rooms.
The basic premise is that it blows out a mist of steam in the air which basically adds moisture. It essentially has steam like you will find in a steam room or a sauna, but the quantity is much smaller. This is one of the reasons I’ve been told that others call these humidifiers a warm mist vaporizer. These two terms really can be interchanged as the person you are describing it will likely know either way what you are looking for. Now that I found a possible solution, the final thing was to test it out and see if it works.
Before I actually purchased a unit, I was told that the best room humidifier will depend on the size of my room and what types of features I am looking for. On the market, you will be able to locate humidifiers in the one or two gallon range. My room was pretty small so the one gallon was plenty enough. The auto shut off capability was another feature I had definately wanted in my warm mist unit. This just makes it easier for me to set my ideal humidity levels and the unit will do everything itself to keep it at that level.
I brought it home and tested out the different levels, including the ideals mentioned in the manuals. A week or so later of using it at different levels, I found the moisture levels in my room to be much better. The room was not dry anymore thanks to the humidifier.
