Garages – Avoid Problems By Ventilating Your Garage This Summer

The garage is a unique part of most homes because it is treated more like a shed than anything else. You need to make sure to ventilate it during the summer or face problems. Take a minute to consider your average garage.. What does it look like structurally? The more rudimentary ones are simply framed boxes with the studs showing. Others may have drywall covering the studs, but that is about it. Why does this matter? Well, consider what happens to your garage in the summer. It is basically an enclosed pocket of air that is sitting in the biggest microwave in our area of the galaxy. The walls heat up and so does the air. This can result in temperatures easily well in excess of 100 degrees for prolonged periods. Okay, so it gets hot. Who cares? Well, you should. Give some thought to genital herpes virus treatments put in your garage.. Your car is an obvious answer, but what else do you store there.? Most people have paints, solvents, cleaners and other substances that do not prosper in heat.. These products can explode or put off noxious gases that can cause a host of health problems. Letting your garage boil in the summer is bad idea. Fortunately, you can get around the problem in two ways. The first is to add insulation on the structure.. It will keep the structure cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter. There is, however, an even cheaper option. You can just ventilate the garage using a fan. The garage should have a grate to outside along the bottom of a wall somewhere. You can put the fan directly in front of it and create a flow of air that will greatly cool the space. Alternatively, you can add a heat duct to the roof at some time, which will also allow it to escape.. The exact measure you take is entirely up to you. The important thing is to realize there is a danger and do something about it.
