Costa Del Sol, Costa Dorada Or Costa Brava Holidays – Which Costa Is Right For You

Making up the coastline of Spain are over a dozen ‘Costas’, though Costa Brava, Costa Dorada and Costa del Sol are the most common. Here are some of the most desirable reasons to visit each ‘Costa’ to help you decide whether relaxing on the golden shores of Costa Dorada or discovering the rugged beauty of Costa Brava holidays is right for you.

Extending north from the town of Blanes, the Costa Brava is just an hour north of Barcelona. The desirability of the Costa Brava is still for the undiscovered beaches and rugged beauty and it has become a popular place to visit over the last few years. Some of the towns worth visiting in the Costa Brava can be easily missed by those staying near the sea, as they are located inland. One town well worth the visit is Figueres, to see an eclectic mix of work from artist, Salvador Dali.

Referring to its long sandy beaches and more refined landscape, Costa Dorada translates in English as “Golden Coast”. In the quaint resort towns found in this region, those seeking an escape from the hustle and bustle of big city life and families with young children will feel right at home. There are also quite a number of festivals and events throughout the year that will keep the entire family entertained. From live entertainment to flamenco shows and karaoke bars, many of the resorts in Tarragona and in smaller resort towns along the coast offer a number of family-friendly activities, which are sure to keep everyone smiling on Costa Dorada holidays.

Costa del Sol holidays are a popular choice with singles, couples and families, no matter whom you ask. The crowds are certainly drawn to Malaga and Marbella, for a winning combination of fantastic nightlife, great resorts, inviting restaurants, and shopping to boot. The nightlife doesn’t really get going much before midnight, and some clubs do not even open until 1 or 2am with party-goers staying on until breakfast time.
