For many of us, psychological mathematics is nothing apart from a dream. And for mums and dads, psychological mathematics is something that they wish their children would learn. Of course, they can- there are lots of courses and books that may teach this.

The president of the Ghana Mathematics Society, Professor Sitsofe Anku, asserted that they need to enable learners or scholars to love learning maths and help them notice that it plays an important role in society.

He also said that mathematics is a critical aspect of life and it is a brilliant idea to build their school mathematics curriculum around it for the students ‘ futures. Actually some kids do not graduate or get into higher studies because they have failing scores in maths.
It was also noted that some guys who wished to try out for the Ghana Armed Forces, the Nation's Security Services and Nursing Coaching School or other professions failed to pass the mathematics talent test.
Basics and Importance of Mental Arithmetic
The professor, because of these statistics, even appealed to the media to help them in this project by showing programs that teaches mathematics.
Madam Dorothy Gordon, Director-General of the Ghana-Indian Kofi Annan Centre for Eminence in ICT, also appealed to Ghana educators to consider other methods to teach maths.

This is the main difference of mental arithmetic with the other systems of learning or teaching maths. Professor Sitsofe Anku further said that their project hopes to teach teachers to get rid of the idea that mathematics is hard.
